Long time, No Post

It's been over a month since I've posted on here, and I can't tell you how much that saddens me. ("Bye-bye" New Year's Resolution....)

I can't even begin to put into words how busy I've been since final exams! When I was still at school, I was spending as much time as I could with our staff because I did not want to leave such amazing people for the summer. I was also dreading packing. I love packing to go somewhere, hate packing to take it all home. And that goes for a vacation or for school!

The day after I got home from school, I started interning. Even though I only work 6 hour shifts (or the occasional 9 hours...) I can't believe how much time it takes from my day or how much it drains me. In addition to actually getting hours in, I have to keep up with a portfolio, with 2-3 journal entries each week, article critiques, papers, etc., etc. It's too much work that I don't really want to even do, to be honest!

So about my internship. If you don't remember from previous posts, I'm interning in the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Richmond. I have grown to love the incredible staff consisting of nurses, exercise physiologists and three other interns. I can't believe how I have already built relationships with them. And then the patients--they are great. There are some who I already feel like I've known forever; it's wonderful.

Now, the actual "work" part, I hate. I've absolutely decided this is not what I want to do with my life. My brain is "overwhelmed" with new information about the heart, and let me tell you, as much as medical stuff interests me, I hate the heart. (Okay, now that I put that in words, it sounds hilarious to me...haha)

And, to top it off, I woke up this morning to an email from my internship advisor telling me she's coming to do my Site Visit on Thursday. We'll see how that goes..

But I am hoping and praying this week goes by as fast as possible, because Friday afternoon we are leaving to go to the BEACH for my cousin's wedding, and I could NOT be more excited!!!! It's going to be an amazing weeked, a beautiful wedding, and a much needed get-away from work!
