25 Days of Christmas: Day 2

Well, I sure am glad you came back for Day 2! I haven't bored you yet, I suppose!

If you've ever been to our house at different holidays, or any time really, you've probably seen our chalkboard in the kitchen. I made it last year and will redecorate it for different occasions, or with different quotes...anything really!

I have had a Christmas chalkboard idea saved on my computer desktop for over a year now (so long I don't even remember where I got it from!).  Well, I forgot to do it last Christmas!! I sure didn't want to forget it this year, so I have kept it on my desktop, where I always see it! haha.

I was really sad at first, because I didn't want to erase our Fall chalkboard--it was one of my favorites to date!  Then, as I started drawing this one, I got really frustrated because I couldn't get straight lines and nothing seemed to be working in my favor. WELL, the end result definitely passes the expectations I had for myself-I LOVE IT! I'm never going to want to erase this one. Fortunately...this one can probably pass and stay into a little bit of January, too ;)

So, here's the Fall one I didn't want to take down:

Annnnd, here's the new Christmas one!!

Luckily, it still has a similar look like the Fall one, so I love it!

I can't decide it I like it with the lights around it....still debating on whether or not to keep them up!

 

Easter decor

I know I'm almost two weeks late on sharing these pictures, but I really did intend to post this earlier in the week.....several days this week consisted of me coming home from work and heading straight to bed for the rest of the night because of headaches/eyeaches, so I didn't really get much of anything done this week.  Heck, just this afternoon I finally watched Dancing with the Stars from Monday (I had slept right through it!)

Anyway, here are some pictures of our Easter decorations this year!

Whenever Harry Potter is being shown on TV, we always have it on. Always.

The bunnies and the standing rabbit in the next four pictures were all gifts from Dad:

 

This apothecary jar has been used for so much--I love it!

(It's currently holding Matt's Easter candy ;)

 

And, of course, the chalkboard!

Yes, I realize it says "hoppy" instead of "happy." My intentions were to draw a rabbit at the bottom, but you can just imagine how that turned out. I'm no artist!

And those Easter eggs hanging off the side, they're some of the ones my sister and I used to hang on a tree in the front yard...when the branches were easy enough to hang them on! haha

 

I've had this bunny for forever! 

 

A stained art coloring I did when I was a kid.

 

Mom told me about these colorful eggs at Dollar Tree, and we both got some to decorate with.

I love anything brightly colored and ESPECIALLY glittery!!

 

Plus, it matched our spring chargers really well!

DIY Chalkboard

I have had this chalkboard tutorial from one of my favorite blogs in the back of my head for so. long.

Finally, about a month or so ago, I finally found the perfect framed picture to use for my chalkboard! I was so excited--I found it at Goodwill for about $8.00

You need a picture painted on a wooden surface, or at least with a wooden backing--not cardboard--so that it's sturdy enough to use as a chalkboard.  The picture that I found, the paint was pretty textured, so I painted the back of it {and I guess if I ever wanted to have this picture hanging in our house, I still have the option, haha}.
