Love List

If you've seen Frozen, you can't help but sing along when you hear "Let it Go." Even if you still haven't seen the movie, you've probably heard the song enough times now so you also know it by heart. Anyway, my mind must be telling me that I lovvvvvve this song, because I literally woke up every day this past week SINGING IT IN MY HEAD. Every. Day. The same part. I don't know why. Until today....when I woke up with "Love is an Open Door" playing on repeat in my head. I don't get it. I guess Frozen really is the best movie ever made!

Jimmy Fallon--he's been my favorite for forever. Conveniently, my second favorite is Seth Meyers, so when Jimmy moved to the Tonight Show, you KNOW I was thrilled that Seth would be on Late Night! Anyway, Jimmy Fallon has these HILARIOUS segments called "Ew!" and if you haven't seen one, please do yourself a favor and go to this YouTube channel now. I promise you will laugh! The Tacchino Salad at Roma's is my new go-to meal. I LOVE it. I tried it several weeks ago, just for something completely different from what I usually get and I couldn't believe how tasty it was! I laugh because it's presented just slightly differently every time, but always tastes just as good! The salad is mixed greens, turkey, red onions, tomatoes, candied pecans and dried pecans. It comes with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing that I really don't care for by itself, but it goes wonderfully with the salad!

For those that know me well, you know I hate birds! Have you ever seen the movie, The Birds? If so, that's the reason I don't like them, ha. So, if birds keep their distance away from me, I'm good.

Anyway, today, I saw not one, but FOUR dead birds. One while cutting grass at church, one in the floor at Lowes, and two in the streets while I was out on my run. I felt so bad for the little things, so, even though I don't like birds, they'll temporarily be on my Love List, just for sympathy reasons...haha.

I knew that there was a parody book of The Hunger Games, called The Hunger Pains, but did you know there's also a parody movie out? Yep, it's called The Starving Games. We randomly came across it on Netflix. 

We intended on finding a Disney movie to watch, and that's what we ended up with. ha!

For the most part, it was pretty funny. Then, there were those moments when you're just like "really?!" I know I blurted out "Oh....Em....Gee" several times, just because I couldn't believe some of the things that were included in this movie. I don't want to give too much away, but there were characters from random movies, some of who's last names may be Potter, Weasley and Granger, amongst others. Even a couple cartoon animations, too.

Now, I will say, given this is a parody, some things were definitely exaggerated, and just flat out gross. I couldn't even watch at some parts. But, I have to give credit where credit is due...we saw it on Netflix and HAD to watch it.

Warm Weather Love List

Anyone else as excited as I am about finally having some good warm weather that doesn't go away after one day?! I am loving it! I enjoy winter, don't get me wrong, but let's be honest, the snow and the cold got really old really quickly!

Anyway, I started thinking about this at work the other day, but I thought I'd just make up a quick list about some of the things I love about warm weather!

-Flipflops and sandals! I was so tired of wearing socks every day to work.....my feet need to breathe, people! Haha. And you better believe the sandals came out this week!

-Keeping the windows open! Several weekends ago, Matt and I did so much cleaning around the house, and it was nice have some windows and our back doors open! We've been opening them up several other times lately, too!

-Bright colors! During the fall, I like the jewel-tone colors of purple, dark red, mustard yellow, etc., but in the winter, it feels kind of drab. I'm ready for more pink, orange and lime green ;)

-Burning my new candles! I had lots of great Christmas/winter candle scents this year (several of them were Christmas presents from Abby and Papa!), but I've recently bought several new summery scents that I can't wait to burn :)  I don't know when or how I got on the kick of loving candles lately!

-Grilled corn on the cob! Mmmmm. I love summery foods like that. Even though we've still been enjoying grilled meat year round, there's just something about grilling during the summer! I love grilled veggies and grilled pineapple, too!

-Running outside--I've SOMEHOW managed to find myself enjoying running lately.  I still dread starting sometimes, but I like the feeling of accomplishment afterwards. I like running outside more now, because running on the treadmill can be so boring! Plus, there's more to look at outside!

Time for another round of things I'm loving!

1. Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee--Matt and I came across this in Homegoods Friday night. To say that we were both excited would probably be an understatement! Matt chose for the bag of coffee beans, so that he could use our coffee grinder to have even fresher coffee.

 Mmmm...drinking it takes me back to breakfast in our room with this amazing view in Ocho Rios!

2. Karen Kingsbury is now sharing an e-series to follow up with all of her books about the Baxter family.  I started reading these books in high school, and finished up when I was at Longwood. When I got to the last book of the series, I just didn't want the stories to end! Luckily, my mom shared a link with me to sign up to receive chapters about the Baxter family via email through Karen Kingsbury's newsletter.

*If you haven't read her books yet, I highly recommend you get started now! Start with the Redemption series, then the Firstborn series, then the Sunrise series, followed by the Above the Line series, and finally the Bailey Flanigan series. Yes, it's a total of 22 books once you've finished all of the Baxter Family Series, but they are all WONDERFUL. It's so neat because all 22 books have the same characters, but each is focused on a different family member, and how all of the characters are connected.  Don't waste anymore time, go pick up a copy of Redemption and get started on Book #1 of 22!!

3. The new cast of Dancing with the Stars was revealed on Good Morning America yesterday! I wasn't as into the cast, at first.  Until they got about halfway through who the Stars are, I was rooting for Danica McKeller from The Wonder Years, but THEN, Candace Cameron Bure came out and I was so excited!! Thennnn, they brought out Meryl Davis and Charlie White from the Sochi Olympics--now that is going to be a great competition to watch! But then, I was confused...how could they NOT have Derek Hough on this season?? That didn't make sense, until they revealed who is partner will be.  It is going to be very cool to watch him work with Amy Purdy, a double amputee Paralympian!

4. Matt's Chick-fil-A special----okay, maybe somewhere else out there has already tried this, but in this household, Matt made up this breakfast sandwich, and I'm also a fan! Order a Spicy Chicken Biscuit and add egg!  If you don't like the Spicy Chicken from Chick-fil-A, you might also like this.  Adding the egg onto it cools down the heat, but you still get the great flavor! :)

5. I love these shirts, based off of TV shows or movies, or just really funny quotes! Some are pretty weird, though..haha

Love List

I've been adding to this list all week, and while it may not be very long, here are some great things I'm loving this week!!

Saving Mr. Banks--if you have not seen this movie yet, you need to! It's so so great {and made me want to go to Disneyworld some kinda bad!!!}! We went a couple of weeks ago, and it was so neat to see how a movie we all love came together!

Has anyone else bought or listened to the Robertson Family Christmas CD? My gosh, it's a great CD! A good mix of songs and readings, and I promise the songs will get stuck in your head! I can't tell you how much I go around saying {in my head or out loud...} "...Wishing you a hairy Christmas and a Happy Happy Happy New Year." Also, I can't forget to mention how much I love to listen to Jase and his wife sing Baby, It's Cold Outside.  Honestly, if you laugh at the show, you'll enjoy the CD, that's for sure!
