Despite the heat, we still did some exciting things! Short lines were on our side again! :) That always makes the day more enjoyable!
Here's Expedition Everest--a great roller coaster! When we first got to the park, we rode it two times, back to back, with no wait time at all!!
(Then we rode it again after lunch with our Fast Pass!!)
Macaw parrots
A little further down the sidewalk, there happened to be a little sideshow with some different parrots. We walked up right at the end....when the parrots were all flying straight towards us to go back to wherever there central location was. Luckily I already had my camera out and it was set on decent settings to get these next few pictures:
There had been an employee standing behind us at a kiosk who said, "you couldn't have walked up at a better time!"
This skeleton of a dinosaur was outside of a really cool simulator ride we rode called....Dinosaur. haha.
You went back in time to bring back a dinosaur, but had to escape a meteor shower-it was really cool!
Another ride we rode was the Primeval Whirl. Oh my gosh, we laughed so hard on this ride...it's kind of a roller coaster, but your car spins and jerks you around..it's hilarious!!!
Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book!
The Tree of Life!
It was neat seeing all varieties of animals!
I thought it was so cool to see a hippo!
And there he is coming up to take a breath..
I couldn't stop laughing at him sleeping...
All of the following animal pictures are from our trip on the Kilimanjaro Safari ride!
Bats are so freaky!
Later in the afternoon, we saw Finding Nemo The Musical! So cool! The colors of the characters and costumes were so vibrant and I loved it!
We did a Fast Pass for this show, which basically just meant we got to go in first and choose our seats first, so we had the option to sit in the Bubble Zone (similar to a splash zone at a water show).
Here's where we had lunch earlier...great barbeque! But there were cranes and young flamingos walking all around us. Yeah, I didn't like it so much! haha.
Fun Fact: All of the benches in Animal Kingdom are made out of recycled milk jugs!
I know this picture seems out of order, but here's the sign that welcomes you at the entrance to the park:
If there's anything Matt has tried adapting me to, it's that you don't always have to stick with your original plan!
Originally, we had dinner reservations that night at Ohana at the Polynesian Resort, but they weren't until about 9:00. After the Finding Nemo musical, we were planning to leave Animal Kingdom, anyway, because we had done everything we wanted, and we were just hot and tired from the day. We both thought it, but Matt was the first to voice it, but we decided to forget our reservations at Ohana, and go to Rainforest Cafe instead, which is right at the Animal Kingdom entrance. I'm so glad we did, because this was one of the best meals we had the whole trip...and the biggest burgers I've ever seen!!
We got a table right by the fish tank!
This tree was right behind Matt..
So long, Animal Kingdom!
And the last park is....Epcot!
