78th Law Family Reunion

A couple weeks ago, we headed down to Eden, NC for our annual trip to the Law Family Reunion.  This is the family reunion for my Memaw's family, which is my grandma on my dad's side, for those who don't know.

We're lucky enough to be a part of a great, big family! My grandma is the youngest of 13!!!
Needless to say, when the 2nd weekend in August finally comes around, we all enjoy the time together, but it always seems to go by so quickly!

Friday night begins with dinner at Santana's mexican restaurant with a few family members. (Define "a few".... haha). Then, several more people get together to peel potatoes and prep everything for the stew on Saturday!

Saturday morning, bright and early, some of the guys meet up for a round of golf, which mostly ended up getting rained out this year.
During golf (but starting much later!) a handful of the girls get together for the Law Ladies Tea Party Luncheon.  (Keep in mind, that when I say "a handful" it can mean 20-30 people, ha!).

Saturday evening is The Stew, where we eat a great brunswick stew, hamburgers/hot dogs, and just great cookout food!  Sunday for lunch, there's an even bigger feast!!

I can't believe it, but I forgot my camera so there are very few pictures from this trip, so here are the ones I did take on my phone.

Saw this on the drink table...seemed appropriate!

Here's our Hampton Inn we always stay at, and we saw our favorite hotel lady, Myra, for the last time this year.
She's worked there for as long as we can remember, so when we found out she was retiring, we all said, "WHAT?!"

Victoria showing Matt her iPad..

I know it's blurry, but check out all that food for lunch! (You don't think we like chicken do you?)

Desserts..mmmm..

As we were getting ready to leave, I saw this plaque hanging up in the building, with a picture of one of my great uncles. Of course, I had to take a quick picture.

Our House: My "Craft" Room

This is sad.

My room upstairs has been painted for almost a year now, and I have YET to blog about it...pretty much because the room is no where near put together yet, because it's still a holding place for all of the crap (see....still calling it all "crap" mom, haha) that I've still been moving from my old room/closet. Actually, that's what both of our rooms upstairs are, but we're working on it..I promise! We have multiple things we're working on that go hand-in-hand, so it'll all eventually come together.

I anticipated on this room being a "craft" room, but I use the term very loosely, haha. All of my craft supplies DO now have an organized home in the room but I haven't actually done an ounce of crafting in that room. haha. Mainly because there's no space to work on, other than the floor. So, for the time being, our kitchen table has been been my crafting area when needed.

So, anyway, even though my room is filled with junk, and only has a couple of pieces of furniture in it, I thought I would at least go ahead and show you the final product after painting it! Finally, right?! Don't worry, when I finally do get most of the junk out of the room, or at least more organized, I'll share more pictures...hopefully in a more timely manner, too!

Here are the before pictures:

Here's the color choice: Emerald!

Peter Pan Show

For years now, I have been to several performances by CYT, Christian Youth Theater. The organization's name has since changed to Characterworks Theater.  I first found out about the shows and started going to them because one of our friends, and fellow Key Club member, Samantha, was in the shows! Our Key Club adviser, Ms. Dick, would buy a group of tickets and then we would buy ours from her so we could all sit together. Some of the shows I've seen are A Christmas Carol, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Aladdin, Annie, and I think a couple more, but I just can't think of them!  These shows are all AMAZING.

Last night, mom, dad and I went to see Peter Pan, which was the show that concluded the summer camp.  They put this show together in 12 days! The acting was great, the costumes and sets were very well designed, and the crocodile was very funny!

Monday and Tuesday were the nights of these performances, which I found to be not coincidental, but more so ironic (Ganny told me, Abby and Brooke that there are no coincidences...everything happens for a reason. That was one of our lessons at the river! lol). Not to mention, this is one of my favorite movies of all time.

The back of the program had information for the shows coming up in their next season, and I'm looking forward to Shrek the Musical and going to see another production of Aladdin!! If you want to see more of their upcoming shows, be sure to check out their website!

Maple and Friends at the River

I have been to the river two times now!

My first time, the 4th of July, I was very nervous: a new place, lots of new people, and new dogs...it was a lot to take in!
I had met Annie before, but I had never met Sonny before, so I didn't really like to be around him. Annie was okay sometimes though. We had our moments and had to be careful.

My favorite part about the river was laying the grass, feeling the wind, and smelling the salty river air!

Here are some pictures from my first trip to the river!

Deddy put me in the pool to cool off...I'm not much of a fan of water, as they discovered.

Look, Cousin Annie got in, too (but soon tried to escape).

I liked it when deddy got in the pool with me!

My second trip to the river was for deddy's birthday!
I had a lot more doggy-play time this weekend!

I like to go down on the pier, but Annie usually doesn't. Maybe all she needed was a little cousin help to go down!

momma and deddy bought me a muzzle so I could warm up to Annie better and we wouldn't try to bite each other. I HATED having it on and kept trying to get it off. Luckily, I only had to wear it for about a minute, because then we were fine! I was so happy!

(I know this picture is blurry, but their faces are too funny not to share it!)

YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LAUGH AT THIS NEXT PICTURE!
I PROMISE NO ONE GOT HURT! HAHAHAHAHA

I love to be held by deddy..

The next day, Summer came!
I had met Summer before, but Summer and Annie had never met.
We all got along great! :)

Poor Annie...I guess that's what happens when you're the shortest dog..you get drooled on.

best friends..

Time to relax..

See, I LOVE the river!!
