A Fresh Start

We spent all day taking down our Christmas decorations; Matt did the outside and I did the inside.  In addition to taking everything down, I was also reorganizing all of our Christmas decoration boxes.  During Christmastime, Matt asked me about the boxes and why "this" was in "that" box.  It made NO sense to him, but I knew exactly what it meant.  The boxes may not have made any sense at all,, but I knew where everything was! haha.  Now, the boxes are more organized (but I know not perfect).  I made a list for each box for what was included, and for the most part, like things are in the same box.  The next step will be making actual labels for the boxes.  Hopefully next Christmas will be a bit easier when it comes to decorating!

 

I love starting every year off with a new planner!  If only you had been with me when I went to pick this one out.  Poor Matt was with me, trying to get other shopping done, but instead, our trip ended up with me chasing him around Target with 2 or 3 planners in my hand because I couldn't decide which one to get! haha

I ended up getting this Sugar Paper planner and some colored pens--I love having everything color coordinated! But, since only 4 came in this pack, I need to find more colors, haha. (The important things, right?)

So, step one of my 2015 to-do list item of organizing anything is complete! I have my planner started for the year, and hopefully it will help keep my life organized....at least a little bit.

I've been searching Pinterest high and low for other ways to organize some things, too.  Thanks to everyone who gave me ideas for storing/organizing my scarves! I'll be sure to let you know the outcome of that!

On another note, since Christmas, I've been hooked on watching the new Hallmark movies that come on every Saturday night at 9:00.  Last week's movie, Surprised by Love, was great, and so far, tonight's movie, A Novel Romance, is too!  If you need something to watch, I highly recommend them :)

25 Days of Christmas: Day 8

During Christmas time, I really enjoy all of the Christmas movies and TV show specials that come on!  Once they all started coming on TV, I decided I was going to try my best to watch more Christmasy things than I did last year.  Last year, I kind of let them all get away from me and kept saying, "oh, I'll catch them at a later time."  Well, during the holidays, there's rarely a later time, because you're always so busy! So, if I see something on I really want to see, I try to at least have it on in the background!

Hallmark has a lot of new movies this year and I've really enjoyed them! 

Some of the new Hallmark movies from this year I've seen that I highly recommend are A Cookie Cutter Christmas, A Royal Christmas, and Christmas Under Wraps.  All three of the movies were so good, that if I were channel surfing and saw that either were on again, I'd flip right over to Hallmark and watch! 

There are still a couple of new Hallmark Christmas movies that have come out, that I haven't caught yet, but I sure hope to before they stop playing them!  Those include Northpole and Debbie Macomber's Mr. Miracle.

Other channels also have Christmas specials that I've either loved or can't wait to see! The Girl Meets World Christmas episode came on this past Friday--it could've not been about Christmas, and I still would've loved it....just to see Cory's parents and Shawn as special guests on the show!

On ABCFamily, 2 of our favorite shows, Melissa and Joey and Baby Daddy have their Christmas episodes coming on this Wednesday--can't wait to watch those!!

Also, did you know that there's A Christmas Story 2?? Matt was flipping through the channels tonight and came across it.  I think I need to watch A Christmas Story completely, from start to finish, before I try to watch the second one.  By the way, you read that last sentence right.  I, the lover of all things Christmas, have yet to watch A Christmas Story entirely.  I am aware that it plays for 24 hours straight every year, haha. Maybe this year will be the year I finally watch it. (I say that every year.)

Can't wait until Winter Break starts--more time for movie watching!! Only 9 more school days!! :)

25 Days of Christmas: Day 1

Soooo, has anyone thought of what the theme might be for this year's 25 Days of Christmas??

It's........................................25 of my favorite Christmas movies!!! And today, I have to start with a classic (okay, maybe it's stretching it to say a "classic" haha).

With that said, I'm starting off these 25 posts with ELF.  Honestly, how can you NOT love this movie?! It's like, the ultimate Christmas movie, filled with spirit!  So many people I know continuously quote this movie throughout the year, not just around the holidays.  For Christmas last year, I actually was given an Elf t-shirt, and I bought another one on sale after Christmas.  Come on, you can't have too many Elf shirts, right? ;)  And I don't think there is another actor who could've done a better job than Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf.  He was the perfect choice!

This definitely reminds me of our old dog, Chestnut, and this is the image that comes to mind: most dogs will pick up sticks in the yard to chew on/play with.  Our dog? No.  He would find an entire tree branch to carry around and play with! haha. The funniest times were when he'd have a branch that had little tiny branches with leaves on it, too!  As dangerous as this probably was.....it was funny to throw these branches and see him fetch them.  Oh, I miss our puppy :(

Yes, this post IS about Mary-Kate & Ashley

So I have no idea why I wanted to do this post. Probably because of my movie selection the other day while I was cleaning my closet/room.

Growing up, I was OBSESSED with Mary-Kate and Ashley.  I think between my sister and I, we have every single MK&A movie! We have many of the "You're Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley's {insert fun party type here} Party" videos, but not all of them, and we also have some of the "The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley" videos!  You know...."Olsen and Olsen Mystery Agency.....We'll solve any crime, by dinner time!" haha. And how in every video, they'd manage to drive across the globe in a matter of 15 minutes? Yeah, I still haven't figured that one out!  Abby and I even tried to pretend we were Mary-Kate and Ashley.......since we have the same first initials as them, we thought it was a great idea.  Plus, when we were younger, so many people thought we were twins because we looked so much alike.  I never saw it then, and I definitely don't see it now! haha. I don't think we look a thing alike!
