Q Barbeque!

Whew! Today was busy!

I left work early so that Matt & I could rush off somewhere that closes at 4pm! (Seriously, who closes at 4? Even FARMVILLE is still open at 4:00pm!!)  We drove out to the Henrico County Courthouse to get our Marriage License, so now we can really get married in 19 DAYS!

After that, we went over to Bed, Bath and Beyond to add a couple more things to our registry (no, not being selfish, it was just stuff we never registered for in the first place, because we weren't sure how everything was working out..), and also picked up a big 'ol sample pack for our Keurig! We're so excited! haha

But what I really wanted to tell you about was a new restaurant Matt and I tried for the first time.  Whenever we're out near Virginia Center Commons, we usually go eat at Chipotle.  Love that place! And, tonight was going to be no different.  But at the last minute, we both remembered a new barbeque place in the same strip as Chipotle that we've been wanting to try.

If you've never been to Q Barbeque before, plan your next dinner trip there and you won't be dissappointed! Matt & I both agree it was the best barbeque we've ever had!  I had a pulled pork barbeque sandwich and Matt got the brisket sandwich.  Not only was the food delicious, but the whole atmosphere was so cool!  Q Barbeque has won many many awards and competitions over the years, and there are trophies displayed all over, as well as fun vintage signs and their Q logo everywhere---even on the lights hanging over the tables!

All of the flavors of their food were so unique: the baked beans I got as my side as such a different flavor than I'm used to, and had pieces of pulled pork inside; Matt's corn pudding side dish was more of a cornbread corn pudding, and I wish I had taken a picture of his face when he had the first bite because his expression kind of said, "oh-my-gosh-what-is-this-wonderful-goodness-I'm-eating?!" haha!  I tried a little bit of the sweet barbeque sauce, and it almost had a fruity flavor to it.  It was good, but I ended up eating my sandwich without sauce because it didn't even need it! {And I didn't even both trying to the hot sauce....I don't really do hot sauce! haha}

And what would a post be without sharing some pictures?? Here are just a few from Q Barbeque!

You wouldn't believe how fast I whipped my phone out to take a picture of that tea dispenser!

Matt waiting on our food...

You actually go through a line to order, much like you would at Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's {I didn't mean for those to all be Mexican options, haha}, but you get a number to put on your table and they bring your order out to you.

My food:

We also both agreed that there was enough food on the plate.  We both finished everything, with the exception of the slaw, and we were satisfyingly full, but not stuffed.

And because Matt couldn't get enough of this food, after finishing his, he ate the last little bit of barbeque that had fallen off my bun while I was eating! lol

I love Q too! My friend here at work, her brother in law is part owner. So they brought us a bunch of samples one day to work so that we would consider using them for our lunch meetings. It's really good....but I haven't gotten Johnny over there yet. But I have to admit, Buz and Ned's is still my all time favorite BBQ place. have you tried them yet?
